The American Symphony Orchestra offers semester-long and summer internships to qualified undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of Marketing and Development. If you are interested in applying, please read the following description, qualifications, and application procedure.

As part of Lincoln Center Presents Great Performers, the American Symphony Orchestra performs unique and imaginative programs, connecting music to art, history, politics, and literature. In addition to its main subscription series at LincolnCenter, the American Symphony Orchestra performs in a lecture/concert series with audience interaction at Peter Norton Symphony Space called Classics Declassified. It is also the resident orchestra of the RichardB.FisherCenter for the Performing Arts at BardCollege, where it performs to capacity audiences in a winter concert series as well as in the summer for the SummerScape Festival and the Bard Music Festival.

The American Symphony Orchestra offers the unique opportunity to witness and appreciate the operations of a major New York orchestra by working in a fast-paced environment. With a combination of work in the Marketing and Development departments, interns acquire the knowledge and skills needed to begin their careers. This distinctive internship allows a broad understanding of what needs to be accomplished before the Orchestra even starts rehearsals. Many American Symphony Orchestra interns have gone on to have successful careers in the arts.
